Setting Smart Goals and Accomplishing New Years Resolutions

New Year Resolutions tend to fail.

Why?

A person who trains a few times a month, eats minimal veggies, drinks minimal water, does minimal cardio, and eats one large meal per day attempts to…
1 Workout everyday
2 Eat 5 servings of veggies
3 drink 8 cups of water per day
4 cardio everyday
5 eat every three hours.

This type of drastic lifestyle change will only work about 10% of the time. (Primarily Type A personalities)

A more realistic approach is to gradually make small incremental changes each week to create a long term lifestyle change.
For example.
Week 1. Workout two days and eat more veggies.
Week 2. Workout two days, eat more veggies, drink more water.
Week 3. Workout three days, eat more veggies, drink more water.
Week 4: Workout three days. eat three healthy meals, take a yoga class.

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
